Venus Basics

• Venus is the second planet from the Sun.

🔥 Super Hot Planet

• Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system!

• Surface temperatures reach about 900°F (475°C)—hot enough to melt metal.

• It’s so hot because of a thick atmosphere that traps heat (like a giant greenhouse).

☁️ Cloudy and Stormy

• Venus is covered in thick clouds made of acidic droplets.

• These clouds make it hard to see the surface.

• The planet has strong winds high in the atmosphere.

🔄 Slow and Backward Spin

• Venus spins very slowly—one day lasts 243 Earth days.

• It spins backward compared to most planets (the Sun rises in the west!).
